This initiative, managed by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and supported by 70 organizations representing 50,000 hotels, aims to elevate the baseline of hotel sustainability globally.
Hotel Sustainability Basics comprises 12 criteria focusing on efficient resource use, environmental impact, and social responsibility, to be implemented over three years with annual progress evaluations. These criteria include:

Planet (3 required, 1 prioritized): 5. Linen reuse program
People (2 required):
The WTTC partnered with Green Key and SGS to create an online verification system, enabling hotels to provide evidence of compliance. Hotels must meet 8 of the 12 criteria in the first year and commit to achieving all 12 by year three.
The HSB initiative will be implemented across all Radisson Hotel Group properties by 2024, driving global responsible travel and encouraging guests to "DO GOOD BY BOOKING RIGHT."
